When Bangalore fell in love with Magnum!

When Magnum first came to Bangalore about a year ago, Bangalore’s party peeps and socialites had a fantastic fun-filled time of gastronomical indulgence at the launch party. Since then the Magnum addiction has captured people so much so that no one wanted to miss the next one which happened on Wednesday evening at the lawns of JW Marriot, Bangalore when Magnum ice creams launched its fourth variant, Magnum Choco Cappuccino.

The fun started as soon as the guests, invited by Fashion Designer Ramesh Dembla walked in. Ramesh played the perfect host and with champagne and wine pouring aplenty, conversations started to flow.

I noted that Bangalore social audience was in full attendance as I greeted Aindrita Ray, Wanitha Ashok, Anitha Kholay, Priya Nayak, Runa and Nealesh Dalal, Sandhya Jain and Lokesh Pandya amongst others.

The excited chattering of the selfie clicking crowd, filled with gorgeous women only came to a stop when it was announced that Magnum had brought together the World Masters – Janice Wong, Asia’s best pastry chef & the culinary expert on all things sweet with Fritz Storm, World Barista Champion & a well-known authority on coffee, to create an unforgettable experience for us dessert aficionados. The banter of Janice and Fritz on which beans were better added to the light hearted humor with Janice taking the lead with her line “Chocolate is better than sex”, to which the guests, more women than men, whole-heartedly agreed! Both Janice and Fritz educated the guests on their respective beans and the process involved in the making of coffee and chocolate. The audience watched fascinated as the experts worked together to bring alive the distinctive flavors of Coffee and Chocolate and whipped a few spectacular dishes including the likes of Spicy Chocolate Mousse and Coffee Champagne.

As the masters spoke about the ultimate pairing of Chocolate & Coffee, Magnum Choco-Cappuccino was introduced. I for one couldn’t wait to get my hands on the ice-cream. Time stood still as the flavors erupted into my mouth and I lost myself. Magnum Choco-Cappuccino has the unmistakable Magnum quality that we all love. The outer layer of the thick cracking Belgian chocolate has sweet crunchy pieces of caramel which made every bite of the ice-cream crunch. The inside filled with creamy vanilla ice cream, was infused with swirls of smooth cappuccino sauce which had everyone, including me going ummmm!
